Scholarships Funding Opportunities

IIMB would like to ensure that no student, who is offered admission to its programmes, is deprived of the high-quality education at the institute due to financial constraints. Need-based scholarships up to hundred percent are offered to deserving candidates, based on their income and demonstrated financial inadequacy. Scholarships are also offered to exceptionally talented students based on their merit. IIMB also provides a competitive package to all those who join the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Management. Doctoral students receive a stipend in addition to tuition waiver for up to four years and nine months, helping them cover their living expenses. To strengthen these initiatives, we look forward to your generous support by way of an endowment or by granting scholarships to a selected group of students. Listed below are some of the broad funding opportunities.

Ph.D. :
Doctoral students spend 5-6 years to complete their program. Throughout this period, IIMB supports the students at an average cost of Rs 50,000 per month. There is no support from the government. Despite constraints, IIMB is committed to research and has an average intake of 20+ fellows every year. At any time on campus, we have close to 120+ fellows at different stages of their program.
DML : Directors Merit List is a scholarship that is given to the top 5% of the batch at the end of the first year of PGP.
Ubuntu Scholarships : Need cum Merit scholarship where the focus is on financial support to needy students. IIMB subsidises fees ranging from 20% to 100% of the total fees, based on the requirements of students.
Merit Scholarships : This is based on performance in academics. Can be given subject wise or programme wise.
Disability : 5% of the admissions intake has been reserved for students with disability (around 20 students per year).
Other Careers : IIMB encourages students to take up alternate careers in NGOs, Social Sector or Entrepreneurship. Since these are high risk and low paying alternatives, some basic financial support is required to help students sustain themselves.
Public Policy Scholarships : In order to promote the public policy program, IIMB seeks to institute scholarships to students who are keen on pursuing public policy but are not in a position to afford the course fee. This is a needs based scholarship.

International Student Scholarships : This is a new category where donors can help in improving the diversity of the PGP student community by instituting scholarships through tuition waivers (20-100% waivers) to international non-native students.
