Scholarships Instituted by Alumni

The Alumni of IIM Bangalore have reposed faith in the growth of the Institute and have thus instituted a number of scholarships.

SCHOLARSHIPDESCRIPTION
IIMB PGP Alumni First Batch 1976 ScholarshipThis scholarship is given to a differently-abled woman student from PGP. The scholarship aims to assist a differently-abled female student (or a differently-abled male student, if there is no eligible female student). It keeps alive the memory of the PGP batch of 1976 and their association with the Institute. Award: Cash award of Rs.75000, Medallion and Certificate
IIMB PGP Alumni 2001 Batch Scholarship AwardAssist in financial aid for a deserving child of IIMB Staff member, who is pursuing higher education. (post 10+2) y The scholarship was created fuelled by the fond memories of the PGP batch of 2001 and their desire to give back to their alma mater IIM Bangalore.
The PGP batch of 2001 on the occasion of their 10th year reunion, decided to reciprocate the family-like support and lookout provided by the staff of IIMB during their days as students in the campus, by instituting a scholarship award as a means of giving back to their alma mater. Thus, the batch of PGP 2001 batch represented by Arnav Pandya, S Anand, Somnath Manna and Vipin Vashishtha established an endowment of around INR 6,50,000 in the academic year 2012-13 to support the financial needs of higher education of the children of staff at IIMB.
Mangipudi AwardsMr. Haragopal Mangipudi a Distinguished Alumni Awardee 2016, has instituted the Mangipudi Awards which are given to two PGPEM students every year. The awards are a scholarship amount of INR 30,000 each given to the Best All-round performer and the Gold Medallist PGPEM students.
Siddharth Padam Scholarship AwardThe scholarship was instituted to Assist in financial aid to need cum merit-based PGP students. To support the various needs of the students studying at IIMB
“The Siddharth Padam Scholarship Award” was created in the memory of the departed alumnus Mr. Siddhartha Padam, PGP 1998. The award is a scholarship aid of INR 50,000 given a deserving student every year.
The Class of PGP 1998 Scholarship AwardAssist in financial aid to PwD (persons with disability) PGP students. To support the various needs of the PwD students studying at IIMB “The Class of PGP 1998 Scholarship” was created by the PGP batch of 1998 to provide financial scholarships to PwD Students studying at IIMB. This award was created in the memory of three of their departed batchmates – Siddhartha Padam, Uday Nayak and Siddharth Gupta. The award is a scholarship aid of INR 2,00,000 given 3 deserving students every year.
The JR Fellowship AwardMr. R Chandrasekaran, an alumnus of IIMB (PGP 1985) has instituted the JR fellowship award in the memory of his parents Jayalakshmi and Ramakrishnan. The award was instituted to attract the best talent in the country to pursue the Fellow Program in Management (FPM) at IIM Bangalore. The award is a scholarship aid of INR 6,00,000 given to a deserving student for one year.
The PGP 1986 DML Scholarship Award The PGP batch of 1986 have instituted a scholarship for recognising and awarding the Director’s Merit List students. Towards this effort, the batch has endowed INR 20,00,000. Annually, 6% of this endowment (INR 1,20,000) is distributed among all the DML students.
The PGP 2008 Higher Education and Welfare AwardThe PGP batch of 2008 as part of giving back to their alma mater, on their 10th year reunion celebrations, created an endowment (of INR 31,50,000) titled “Class of PGP 2008 Higher Education and Welfare Fund” to provide Education scholarships to the children of staff at llMB and meet medical emergency expenses in case the scholarship gets unutilized in a specific year. Higher Education for the purpose of awarding this scholarship is Class Xl or equivalent and above, Bachelor’s degree in any subject, diploma in engineering or any other subject duly recognized by any government authorized body. “Staff” of llM Bangalore comprise of permanent staff, contracted and sub-contracted employees who have been working in llMB, directly or indirectly, for least one year. And, a condition that the Family income of the staff member should not exceed INR 6 lakhs per annum.
