PGP 1986 batch donates to Prof. PN Thirunarayana classroom

Class of PGP 1986

The batch of PGP 86 has contributed Rs 80 lakhs towards naming a classroom (L 12) after Late Prof. PN Thirunarayana, the iconic marketing professor who passed away in 2011. We plan to raise Rs 2 crores for this project. Our sincere gratitude to this batch for having come forward to honor their teacher.

Late Professor PN Thirunarayana

Prof. P N Thirunarayana was associated with IIMB for 33 years. He joined IIMB in April 1977 as an Assistant Professor in the Marketing area. He retired as Professor in 2005 but continued his association as Visiting Faculty till 2010. He was undoubtedly one of the most popular teachers who inspired students across decades to take up marketing as a career. He had a terrific class presence and combined style, erudition and content in his lectures that was distinctive and awe inspiring. For those who wish to rekindle their memories of the professor, here are a few links that would be useful –

  1. Memorial Lecture : Rajeev Bakshi, MD, Metro Cash & Carry and IIMB alumnus (PGP 77-79), delivers the first PN ThirunarayanaMemorial Lecture on December 19, 2013

We are hoping to have the classroom naming ceremony during Guru Purnima this year (mid-July).
